National Underwear Day

National Underwear Day was founded, and had its inaugural celebration in August 2003. Since that time, it has become a grand scale annual event featuring underwear runway shows at the center of Times Square in New York City, underwear changing tents where the public comes to receive their own complimentary fresh pair, and live appearances by underwear models on the morning news shows. Every year, we celebrate yet another full force tribute to what everyone wears underneath.

This year's National Underwear Day festivities were underway by 7am on Tuesday, August 7, 2007. More than 50 models were already dressed in the hottest looks from the world's most coveted intimate apparel brands. Dressed in just their skivvies, these models brought in the daylight with live performances at New York TV studios. The commute hour saw trial runs of models strutting their stuff on the open-air catwalk in Times Square while the summer sun heated up the city.

Tourists and New Yorkers alike were patiently waiting for their chance to change into their own fresh pair of free new underwear from the innovative intimate apparel companies that sponsor National Underwear • National Underwear Day is not just an excuse to have a great time.
