National Underwear Day!
Tuesday was National Underwear Day, don't ya' know! Really. And thanks to online underwear vendor freshpair.com, there was a National Underwear Day fashion show to help us celebrate and everything. Lydia Hearst and Tyson Beckford did their part by hosting the event, which was chock full of some 50 shapely models in lacy finery, with men in tiny briefs posing beside bug-eyed socialites and parades of near-nude missies jiggling and jiving down the runway—some in boxing gloves even, though we didn't quite know what that was supposed to mean!
A pair of Radar's trusty interns were in attendance, eager to find out what some of the bulge- and boobie-starers had to say about the occasion—and to inquire which stars attendees might also like to see stripped almost-bare:
When asked who hot piece of T&A co-host Beckford would most want to see in their underwear, he replied, "Rihanna—don't tell Chris Brown." (Seriously, Beck, afraid of that wimpy dancing boy?) Host and scantily clad "actress" Hearst, for her part, wanted Tyson stripped down to his drawers, as common a sight as that's been. She then giggled at her own coyness, while a Thor-like model with a fierce rack of riblets proceeded to massage her shoulders. (That's the hulk above, with Hearst!)
The gay fashion mafia was, of course, out in force. Suede, from this season's Project Runway, remained fairly mum until we suggested that per chance he'd like to see Madonna au natural? He answered in the preferred third-person: "Suede would love to see what's underneath those fabulous clothes," he exclaimed. As for Heatherette diva and lip gloss devotee Richie Rich, he just wanted to see his phantom boyfriend, pausing only briefly for a few kissy faces with one of your on-the-scene interns (below!).
And while bare asses flapped down the runway, and some well-oiled model decided to gyrate in the face of one onlooker, hip-hop legend and unlikely socialite Russell Simmons smiled politely to our question at who'd he most like to see in their underwear, took a sheepish look at his be-glittered lady friend, who looked ready to kill, and offered: "I can't answer that ... a lot of people?"
