Like, why didn't anyone tell me it was National Underwear Day on Monday? I would have worn a pair!

For some reason Lydia Hearst felt the need to change her costume in honor the "day" which is as official as, say, an ad campaign. (Hey, in some spheres that counts as even more official than actual, bonafide federal holidays.)

The heiress, who conspicuously left her mom-inspired beret at home, played hostess at an underwear-centric event at Espace in New York and wore a figure-hugging, AWESOMELY-SOPHISTICATED black number and also a silver sequins ensemble.

Other underwear revelers included model-slash-actor Tyson Beckford, designer Marc Bouwer, former Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzales, hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons and Heatherette designer Richie Rich.
