How to Measure T-Shirt Size
Use the following resource to determine your basic upper body measurements.
Measure Chest
With your arms at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms. Keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor.
Measure by Sleeve
Bend your arm to 90° and place your hand on your hip. Start measuring at the center back of your neck. Extend the tape across your shoulders, down to your elbow, and then to your wrist.

Additional Fit Tips for T-Shirts
- Brands determine sizing differently. The chart above is a common size chart, but each brand varies slightly, so be sure to check each brand's specific size chart.
- With shirts, as with underwear, different fabrics will allow different fits. Any t-shirt with added stretch (Lycra, spandex, or elastane) will conform more to your body than a shirt of the same size made from 100% cotton. Cotton t-shirts drape off your body while cotton stretch t-shirts cling to you.
- What is a slim or body-conscious fit? We use these terms to describe a t-shirt with a modern, European-style cut. These shirts tend to be narrower through the torso area and generally less roomy overall.
