·         Can you share with us some advice on proper underwear etiquette?

The Basics of Etiquette: “You’ve got to cover your bottom and put your best foot forward.”

Rules of wearing:

When wearing dress pants: Beware of billowy boxers. You don’t want your shorts all bunched up. Wear either the trim-fitting, happy-medium of boxer briefs, or stick with the classics and go with trunks and briefs.

When wearing slim-fitting pants: Briefs are the obvious choice.

When on a 1^st date/Valentine’s/Wedding: Wear nice underwear every day, and you won’t have to worry about this.

Underwear Don’ts: Underwear is not meant to be outerwear. Don’t let it all hang out. Underwear should look like you’re wearing it, not the other way around as if it is wearing you. An oversized or overly complicated contraption can make you look like you’re its accessory.

The golden rule of etiquette: “Simper ubi sub ubi. Always wear underwear”

I have a confession: I pick my underwear out before I pick out my clothes each day. Sometimes the bra first, sometimes the panties, but I will skip wearing that new dress if it does not match my lingerie for the day. Being full-busted, I used to have trouble finding bras in my size, let alone bras pretty enough to sway my daily clothing selections. That has long since changed. With the growing popularity of lingerie brands designed for us D+ girls, I have amassed quite the expansive collection. But even now that I am an intimates-hoarder, I have recently felt like I was missing something in my wardrobe. I have practical, efficient and sleek, I have bold, bright, and daring, I have luxurious, glamorous, and detailed, and I have retro and sassy. But I was missing sweet, soft, and fun. As Cover Male’s Designer, one of the main things that I try to concentrate on is always having that touch of elegance and sophistication in every single piece designed, not only to create timeless and classic undergarments for the modern male, but to create/boost the self-confidence and self-satisfaction that every man deserves. I believe that Cover Male works well on portraying these elements with its bold colors and modern cuts; making Cover Male the new “it” and “must-have” brand of the year.

·         Most of the Cover Male underwear styles don’t employ a lot of bells & whistles and instead put emphasis on the male form and on color options. Was this a conscious decision from the start?

Yes, in a way it was. Before designing any piece for Cover Male, I and everyone that puts an effort on making CM underwear, work our best to have the perfect understanding of the male form. This allows us to provide the perfect fit for all men, giving them the most suitable fabric/cut for each piece that works in respecting the body size and shape of their form. Well-fitted, colorful underwear shows confidence in one’s body and assures they are not afraid to show it off.

·         What’s next for Cover Male?

Cover Male has a lot of new collections coming up. We are ready to launch our swim collection that I am very excited for everyone to have! I hope that my designs for this collection will be part of everyone’s fun in the sun memories.

We are also launching our cotton collection (CM by Cover Male) later next month, so be ready for a brand new must-have!

Last but not least, I am working on finalizing the Sports collection for Cover Male that will be released sometime in May, we hope.

Stay on top of your panty game

Basically, any style that isn’t a seasonal style can be scheduled for regular deliveries. If you’re hard on your underwear, you can schedule shipments as often as once a month. Hmmm…  Maybe not!  I still have 2 months left of spring and there’s no better time than now to get in shape.  And with Spanx’s Active wear line, I am confident I’ll get there in style.  And the greatest thing about Spanx – (and shapewear in general) is that if I don’t get there – no one will know! It makes packing for the gym one of the easiest tasks of my day (no need to dig through my bottomless bag). What is your favorite current style or collection from C-IN2 and why?

So far, I’m loving the Filthy collection for its unique design and the Punt style as it’s such a great hybrid of other classic styles.

C-IN2 Filthy is already a huge success after only a few weeks. What influenced you to create this collection?

I have to say that originally people thought I was a little crazy trying to make Filthy underwear.  Our more conventional consumers didn’t immediately get the concept.  But knowing our target demographic, we thought they’d not only understand it, they’d love it.   The truth is that there’s something sexy about someone being sweaty and dirty.

What was the influence behind C-IN2 Grip?

I’ve always wanted to do an athletic line but the idea of wearing polyester underwear has never been appealing.  With recent developments in fabric technology, this collection has been made possible.  It’s the best of both worlds high – performance and comfortable.

We are very excited about C-IN2 Swim coming soon to Freshpair, what can you tell us about creating swimwear for C-IN2?

C-IN2 swim has two categories of suits - Woven trunks with varied lengths and a knit Brazilian square-cut suit.  However, we made a change.  We’ve had many requests for a swimsuit with a comfortable contour pouch.  The C-IN2 answer was to put a pleat in the crotch of the suit, providing more room.  To the wearer it just feels comfortable because you aren’t compressed.  To an onlooker, the pleat is invisible.
