The Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker is a soft, lightweight hiking sock for four season comfort. This Wigwam sock has all the qualities of conventional wool such as insulation and dryness, but unlike conventional wool, Merino wool will not itch because of the fine diameter of its fiber. Wigwam's merino is also treated to resist shrinkage. This sock features 1x1 mock rib welt top, 3x1 filet rib leg, elastic cushioned instep, full terry leg, Y heel pocket, an ultra-dense lightweight terry sole and super-smooth Lin-Toe closure. All of which make this Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker amazingly comfortable.

Comments about Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker:

I wore these for a day of walking and viewing exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum. We traveled by commuter train and then subway, then walked through a blowing November rain. My feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable all day. If I'd work my usual brand of cheap department store socks, it might have been a different story -- pain and blisters. Btw, I'm 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, size 14 shoes. Wigwam's XL socks are true to size and sturdy.

Comments about Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker:

I just ordered another 4 pairs after my original pairs wore out after six years of use. Cannot recommend these socks highly enough. I use them winter and summer for all-day hiking over treacherous terrain and forget I have them on. They don't itch, don't burn, don't bunch, and don't wear, and they are so easy to look after - I just wash them with everything else.

Comments about Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker:

The wool in these socks has a good level of wicking while offering an acceptable level of cushioning neccessary for long hikes.

Comments about Wigwam Merino Lite Hiker:

These socks are comfortable and warm. They are a good compromise in the thickness and having maximum insulative value. Thankfully, they are not too thick to fit into snug cross county ski boots. My only complaint is the price, but then agian you do pay for quality.
