I wore these for a day of walking and viewing exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum. We traveled by commuter train and then subway, then walked through a blowing November rain. My feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable all day. If I'd work my usual brand of cheap department store socks, it might have been a different story -- pain and blisters. Btw, I'm 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, size 14 shoes. Wigwam's XL socks are true to size and sturdy.

I just ordered another 4 pairs after my original pairs wore out after six years of use. Cannot recommend these socks highly enough. I use them winter and summer for all-day hiking over treacherous terrain and forget I have them on. They don't itch, don't burn, don't bunch, and don't wear, and they are so easy to look after - I just wash them with everything else.

Great everyday sock

These socks are comfortable and warm. They are a good compromise in the thickness and having maximum insulative value. Thankfully, they are not too thick to fit into snug cross county ski boots. My only complaint is the price, but then agian you do pay for quality.

The wool in these socks has a good level of wicking while offering an acceptable level of cushioning neccessary for long hikes.
