On the one hand, opting for one size larger than normal was a good idea--the waist fits snug/secure without digging in, the hips and rear are likewise, snug and supportive without being too tight or too loose.
On the other hand, sticking with a medium rather than a large might have left me with a little support where it counts. If you want the feel of a reassuring hug around the buttocks and hips, while feeling like there's nothing keeping the dangly bits from doing as they please, then these will do you well.
If you're looking for something that's supportive in the man-bits region, consider taking the same size you normally do, or looking for another product.
